You can rotate models around the z axis by picking points to determine the rotation axis and the rotation angle. You can also rotate models by entering values.

To rotate a model by picking:

  1. Select an object that belongs to the model you want to rotate.

  2. Go to the Models tab.

  3. Click the Rotate button below the model list.

  4. Pick a point to set the rotation axis.

If you pick an incorrect point, you can start over by clicking the Reset button.

  5. Pick a point to define a reference line from the rotation axis.

The reference line is used for determining the rotation angle.

  6. Snap to a point in the model view to see the rotation angle.

You can snap to corner points of objects. Tekla BIMsight displays a gray square on the snap point.

  7. Pick a point to rotate the model.

Tekla BIMsight displays the rotation values below the model list.

  8. Optional: Enter a value in the Rotation Start, Rotation End or Rotation Angle box as required to change the rotation of the model.

  9. Optional: To undo the rotation, click the Reset button.

  10. Finish rotating the model by pressing the Esc key.
