Integration with Tekla Structures

I would like Tekla Structures users to be able to communicate to Tekla BIMSight users without actually having to leave Tekla Structures. The TS users should be able to update the BIMSight files, add snapshot notes and review comments from BIMSight users without ever leaving TS.

Hi, It's actually already possible to communicate with Tekla BIMsight users without having to leave Tekla Structures. First, you need to create a shared project in Tekla BIMsight, and via this shared project folder you can then share models and notes between other Tekla BIMsight users, or also with Tekla Structures users. In Tekla Structures there is a Comment Tool extension https://extranet.tekla.com/BC/tekla-structures-en/product/extensions/comment-tool/Pages/Default.aspx available which can be used to join to the shared Tekla BIMsight project. After joining to the shared project with Comment tool any notes you create and share will immediately show up in Tekla BIMsight, and the notes created in Tekla BIMsight can also be viewed in Tekla Structures Comment Tool. More information about the Comment Tool - Tekla BIMsight communication and its limitations is available here http://teklastructures.support.tekla.com/191/en/ext_comment_tool#sharing Then if you do any changes into a Tekla Structures model you can export the model to IFC and save it to the project folder and in this way others connected into the Tekla BIMsight shared project can get the updated model into use. More information about Tekla BIMsight shared folder and updating models is available in the following help articles http://helpcenter.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_setting_default_model_folder http://helpcenter.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_updating_model_by_refreshing Hope you find this information useful. Thanks, Heikki
