Ability to lock selected objects/models

It would be nice to be able to lock a model (or layer of a model) so that it is “unselectable”. Reason: I have a model that contains about 20 buildings on a site. I have the topography of the site in the model as well. However, as I am moving my cursor around the screen to navigate the model, the topography model highlights very frequently. Since it is made up of a large number of lines, they all highlight yellow, which is somewhat distracting to the viewer.

Hi Jason, Currently it isn't possible to lock models or layers. However, you can hide the desired models/layers by clicking the visibility symbol. And if you select the Ghosts button below the 3D view, the hidden models are shown as vague outlines so you're still able to see them but they're not active. Please take a look at these instructions about the ghost mode http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_switching_ghost_mode Thanks for your suggestion, I'll add it on the list of possibilities for the future releases. Hiding and Ghosting does make the objects inactive, but they are too hard to see. Maybe allow the user to control the degree of ghosting?
