Bimsight installation problems

http://www.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=45d04f85-1d91-0aae-2603-3292a62f I am getting this dialogue box appear when I try unsuccessfully to run Bimsight for the first time. The top line in the dialogue box reads as per the next 3 lines shown below : System.ComponentModel.Composition.CompositionException: The composition produdes multiple composition errors, with 27 root causes. The root causes are provided below. Review the CompositionException.Errors property for more detailed information .... I have also uninstalled & reinstalled Bimsight with the same results The attached picture only shows a small part of the dialogue box, I couldn’t actually see to the bottom of the box (or scroll down further). My operating system is Windows XP Pro SP3. Has anybody else experienced the same problem. Regards Graeme

Hello Graeme, Sorry to hear about this. The first thing to check is that you have successfully downloaded Tekla BIMsight - please uninstall, re-download Tekla BIMsight from www.teklabimsight.com and re-install. Sometimes the download breaks and you do not get the full package, this would easily lead to this situation. Best Regards, Ville

Ville, I have already uninstalled, redownload & tried to install 3 times since the problem. I get exactly the same results each time. The last time I did this was with the help of my local Tekla Structures support. They are happy I am doing nothing wrong as far as downloading & trying to install. Regards Graeme

hi, have you tried to update your .net framework?

Oscar, What steps are involved in doing that ? Regards Graeme

you can find the installer from microsoft website. search, download and install. just type net framework. anyway this is just a try if it can solve the problem. and beside, upgrading the net framework is a requirement for latest software release like TS17.

Oscar, I have TS17 currently installed & running, so could I assume the net framework is not the issue with BimSight ? Graeme

hi Graeme, yes I agree. if you have TS17 then net framework is not an issue.

I have now downloaded & installed the latest .net framework 4.0 then uninstalled & reinstalled Bimsight. After these steps the same problem still exists ?

This installation problem has now been successfully fixed with a lot of help from Marko Myllymaa at Tekla. He was able to supply me with the following 2 files to replace, BIMsight.exe.config & Tekla.ArrowheadOnline.Client.dll. Thanks again Marko

Hi everybody, There have been more of these cases about the installation problem or actually the problem was in the starting up of the Tekla BIMsight. We are releasing very soon a new version of Tekla BIMsight which includes this fix. BR, Marko Myllymaa

Marko, I am having the same problem as Graeme. Can you send me the two files (and instructions) that fixed Graeme's problem? Greatly appreciated. Nikhil npatel@conxtech.com

Hi Nikhil, This installation issue was fixed few months ago and it shouldn't occur anymore during the installation of the latest releases. Do you receive the error message when installing the latest version of Tekla BIMsight found on this page http://www.teklabimsight.com/downloads.jsp. If so, please report it here, and we'll investigate the case further to solve the issue. BR Heikki
